Final Piece Completed

Here is a picture of my final piece. As shown in my previous post, the piece was created using images which I had edited on Photoshop. I chose an image of part of Llandaff Cathedral as my main base photograph, I then layered images of graffiti and edited the colours of the whole piece. I then printed the finished image onto fabric using two different digital techniques. I then cut out the main shapes of the piece and used applique to create a new pattern, which incorporated my theme of shapes and forms in architecture. I used decorative stitches in range of neon and vibrant colours and inspired by the textiles artist Tucker Schwarz, I left the thread of the stitching hanging down – which in turn, is a metaphor for the hustle and bustle of city life. I am very happy with the piece I have created and feel it encompasses both my themes.
